"The Happiest Place..."

Yeah... So I haven't been so prompt to tell you all about how my family's trip to Disneyland went. Mostly this is due to the fact that I've been working some crazy hours lately. lol

Well our trip was last week... We left monday and got home on thursday. The trip down was kinda cool because it was the first time I had ever driven to Disneyland... The last time I was there I was too young to drive. I think it was actually right before I got my permit. Hmm... Honestly I don't remember the when the last time I was there was. Anyway another cool part of the trip was the fact that we were in a rented mini-van. We got a brand spankin' new Dodge Grand Caravan. It was a way nice ride... except for the funny whistling noise that it would make while driving at high speeds... um yeah... *shakes head at the thought* It was a nice van though.

Ok so that wasn't really that much of a highlight obviously but I thought I'd still mention it. The real fun began when we were walking down "Main Street USA." I wonder why it's called that? Ok so I lied... Actually it began when we got on the train at Main Street... LOL... Usually walking down Main Street is the first thing you do though... :)

I think the ride we were on most was either Pirates of the Caribbean or Thunder Mountain.... Though my personal favorite would have to be Space Mountain... Oh dang... that is way more fun then I ever remembered it being. We got to ride that one three times during the trip. :)

While we didn't get to experience the full show, we were able to see the fireworks which as always were awesome. They did kind of this tour of disney theme. The unfortunate thing about it all was that in order to really get a good show you had to park yourself in front of the castle... Yeah it was packed a good two to three hours before. Maybe if we were able to go to Disneyland more often we might have considered waiting around that long but shoot... What we were able to experience though was amazing. I love how they're all timed out to music... :)

Other favorite memories from the trip would definitely include the first night we were there when Kelli and I went on Splash Mountain... Yeah she sat in the very front and when we came down the last drop... she got soooo wet... We're talking drenched... Yea... Exceedingly! Oh I'll be posting pictures for sure! :) The only dry spots on her were the lower parts of her pant legs... lol

Oh and we went to Toon Town for a little fun. Mostly we went to get some photos and hopefully to see some characters... Yeah well by the time we got there I would be surprised if the line that we saw at Mickey's house was less than a hour... It was long! So we opted not to wait around for that... But we did get some great photos with some of the local scenery! :) Like this photo of me in jail... hehehe

Hmm... I can't think of anything else right now... I'll probably post more later when I have a chance to get on and post my trip pictures. I won't be able to do them tonight but I'll get to them soon.

A new coat of paint!

Today I got to redo our kitchen a little bit... We've had our home for about 10 year's now If i'm remembering correctly and we're just now finally getting around to painting the kitchen for the first time... The people who built the house conveniently forgot to do it, so it's definitely been long over due. I started at 8 this morning... yeah and I finally got the last of the things done around 9:30 tonight... It's all good though.... It's been a long time since I've done a big project like that and it felt good to be doing some physical labor. I really feel like I'm accomplishing more when it's something physical. I'll be sore tomorrow I'd bet, but in it's own way it'll be nice. I'm including a picture of the kitchen all torn apart and then the final result. Yeah I know.... not too interesting but I figured it gave me something to blog about.

Oh yeah and I mentioned a while back that Robert had a new addition to his family, Nathanael Isom. I figured I'd add a picture of him since I got some today in my email. Cute huh? The one with the funny looking hair due (probably from working hard all day taking care of the kids...) is my brother, Robert.

I hope you're all well...

A little late

It's been back to work for me the last couple of days. Richard has me starting in on a new project now with the Dixie Business Alliance and I started work on one of the more engaging aspects of the project tonight... the calendar feature... I love the heavy programming parts! :) And that's what my life will consist of until we go on our trip... work, work, more work and spending time with family!

A Long Time Ago...

So it's been a little while since I blogged last.... But hey now I have a fancy new design on my blog and it's all good! hehehe. My original plans actually were to do a Star Wars theme but until now I just haven't had time. It actually didn't take too long to put together and get up and running. I sure had fun doing it too. Nice thing is I even learned how to use Illustrator. I've had to use it a little bit for work but I've never really made anything in it. I made the background using Illustrator and I created the header in Photoshop... I love Photoshop.
